What happens after approval:

Red tick
Funding allocation happens after approval, not at the same time.
history
Timeframes vary depending on your circumstances and funding availability.
Group
While you wait, you can explore providers, plan your services and consider interim support options.

What affects wait times?

Once you've been approved for Support at Home, the next step is funding allocation. While some people receive funding quickly, others may wait a little longer. The timing depends on your individual circumstances and where you sit on the national priority list.

While you wait, you can explore providers, consider the services you'd like to receive, and prepare to get started when funding becomes available. If your needs change during this time, it's important to let My Aged Care know.

What else should I know?

Depending on your circumstances, you may also be able to access interim support, such as the Commonwealth Home Support Program, or arrange services privately while waiting for your funding allocation.
