Understanding income assessments and contributions:
Hand Money
Most people will contribute towards the cost of some Support at Home services.

Your contribution is determined by Services Australia based on your individual circumstances.
Form
If you're not receiving an Age Pension, you'll need to provide income and asset information to determine your contribution.

How does the income assessment work?

If you receive a full or part Age Pension, your Support at Home contribution is generally based on your existing income and assets assessment. In most cases, you won't need to complete additional paperwork.

If you're not receiving an Age Pension, Services Australia will ask for information about your income and assets to calculate your contribution. It's important to provide this information promptly, as the highest contribution rates may apply if an assessment isn't completed.

What else should I know?

Your Support at Home budget is issued quarterly and includes funding set aside for care management. If your care needs change over time, you or your Care Partner can request a reassessment.

If there's a delay in receiving your full allocation, interim funding may be available so essential supports can begin sooner.
